Gender Surprise Party!
This time around, we are finding out the sex of little baby d.We decided this time, together we would either find out or not find out. Last time Ted found out and I didn’t which was just too hard for both of us. Ted decided this baby we will find out and the next we won’t. I was slightly disappointed because to be honest, waiting was the best surprise I’d ever received! But then the other part of me is excited to find out 20 weeks earlier than before.
But I wanted a fun way to tell everyone. And today, I found it, without even searching!
While Chase napped, I folded laundry and turned TLC on. 19 Kids and Counting was on (click here to read about them) and I got the BEST idea from them. Their son and daughter-in-law did this on the Today show.
{A gender surprise cake!}
I {LOVE} the idea. I am thinking about asking my aunt, who is amazing at making and decorating cakes (remember this one?) and asking her to do this for us.
The plan;
- Ultrasound. Dr. Hill puts the boy/girl ultrasound in a sealed envelope, give it to my aunt, so we DON’T find out. Have her do the cake.
- Have a gender surprise party with close friends and family.
- Cut the cake to find out the sex! The inside will be either blue or pink!
Eeeeeeee! I can’t wait!! 8-10 more weeks!

this is a really fun way to do it! i had a friend who did the same thing. they had the doctor put it in a sealed envelope and they gave it to a friend who coordinated with the baker. what a fun memory that will be to have!
