Behind the name; Eisley Antalya

If you haven’t already heard…we’re are having a girl and her name is Eisley Antalya Davis (pronounced eyes-lee & on-tal-ya)

I wanted to share with you the meaning behind her name. It’s quite spectacular how perfectly her name fits.

Eisley

You may or may not have heard of the band Eisley? Well, no worries, that’s not why I named her Eisley. Let me explain. When I was 16/17 I was introduced to this amazing band and fell in love. They weren’t common or popular, but they spoke to my heart so very much. I remember thinking how beautiful the name Eisley would be for a baby girl but I would want a deep, meaningful meaning behind it. I could find nothing. When we were trying to get pregnant with Chase I decided to research Eisley and finally found a meaning! (And now her name has finally made the baby name books/sites)

Eisley means strong. (How PERFECT!)

One month later, we were pregnant with Chase and I was convinced that I was pregnant with a girl. Remember? I never called Chase Eisley, but I was almost sure he was a girl. When we got pregnant with this baby, we immediately felt to keep Eisley Antalya. That should have been a sign right? :) I am thrilled we decided to keep her name and that years later, I am finally having a daughter and her name is Eisley. I am still in awe.

Antalya

Around the same month that I found the meaning of Eisley, Ted and I were talking about a middle name, and he told me of this beautiful place in Turkey named Antalya. We did research and we loved what we came up with. Antalya was a beautiful city on the mediterranean coast meaning beautiful and break of day. We both fell in love (Ted’s been to Turkey, loved it and wants to take our family there one day).

I feel it is perfect. Beautiful, for even though I cannot see her right now, I know she is my beautiful daughter. And break of day fits perfectly because ever since we’ve become a “high risk pregnancy”, I wake up every morning and the first thing I do is lie in bed and wait to feel the baby move.

So… now you know the meaning behind our sweet baby girl, Eisley Antalya Davis.

We decided to share her name with you because the circumstances of this pregnancy are so different. I wanted to have people know him/her by name and pray for my baby specifically. So will you please pray for Eisley to grow and flourish so I can carry her full term instead of delivering much earlier than anticipated? I would be so very grateful!! She is strong and I am believing, hoping and trusting for her to go full term.
