A Onesie (& a Boy) with Character.

Boy Kimino? Yes. Thank you Dwell Studio.

Uh oh, he spotted the camera.

This was an accidentel shot. It’s almost like he’s saying “Who me?”

This is what happens sometimes when he realizes I am photographing him.

I. am. serious. He gets this ornery side from his daddy. ;)

Seconds later, this shot. This boy is quite the character!

Last but not least, my {favourite} shot.

I realized, forgot to write about his 6 month well-baby checkup. He now weighs 18 lbs 2 oz and is 28 3/4 in long. He is 75% in his weight and head, but his height is in the 90%. He obviously doesn’t get that from my 61″. :) He is healthy and that always encourages my heart.

We will be moving onto veggies soon. I am looking forward to that, but I can’t say the same for Chase. The reason I’ve waited so long is because he actually doesn’t really like rice cereal and most days he refuses to eat it and will only eat breastmilk! (And he still refuses to take a bottle)…

Since he is at a healthy weight, I haven’t pushed it too hard, but we are going to try veggies and see what he thinks then! I really don’t mind either way, because right now, this is the one thing I have that helps me feel like my baby boy isn’t growing up too fast. I will not complain about the fact that he only nurses because someday and sooner than I can even imagine, I will be missing those moments when he is in my arms.

Curious, when and what did you first feed your baby after rice cereal?

3 Month Photoshoot.

These are 2, almost 3 weeks late in coming, not that anyone but me will notice. Haha :)

Chillin’ with his buddy Scoundrel.

The bumbo has helped him sit up better, but he still needs help to sit up on his own.

“Look mommy, I’m a big boy!”

Love this one. His eyes are still blue/grey but I see hazel sometimes.
I’m curious what colour they will end up being!

He definitely doesn’t get his length from me.
Two things he enjoys; chewing and grabbing.
These lil guys are his new fav. Teething toys.

:) all boy, that’s for sure.

Mision accomplished; sicker destroyed.

Yesterday was quite the day.

First, I took Chase to the doctor (finally) to ask about the inflamed patch on the back of his head and on his legs. Sure enough, it’s eczema, which is hereditary (I have it). They gave him lotion, so hopefully that will work.

Within the next week we are taking him in to get his blood drawn so we can narrow down what he might be allergic to. My eczema is triggered by allergies in peanuts and dairy, although it’s nothing life threatening like some people I know. Hopefully his isn’t too bad of an allergy as well!

This wasn’t his well-baby checkup, that is scheduled for November 18th. However, they did weigh and measure him, just because I guess. He now weighs 15 lbs 11 oz and is 28 3/4 in long!! He has definitely slowed down in the weight but shot up in length. He now looks long and thin, although he still has his cute rolls! The length part he does not get from me!

Second, wednesday evening I started feeling awful. And by his appointment yesterdayI felt so sick, then I could barely make it to the car. I called Ted and we immediately went to see my doctor. I would usually wait it out, but with a baby and the flu going around, I just couldn’t risk it. We arrived, and I could barely walk. I went inside, almost made it to the bathroom before telling a lady in the hall “Ma’am, I’m going to pass out”… she laid me down in time, thankfully! Anyways, I had food poisoning. I was just happy to hear it wasn’t the flu!

Poor Ted had to take care of us yesterday. I think it was really hard on him, doing almost everything by himself (expect the feedin). At this point, Chase really needs me more than daddy, so it was hard for everyone. Chase wanted mommy, mommy wanted to sleep and daddy had to learn how to manage everything at once. It was interesting because Chase was extremely frustrated and fussy yesterday. It made me realize how much he loves and needs being held by me!  Whenever I did get the energy to cuddle him, he would be just fine and snuggle close. I actually loved that part of the awful day yesterday.

A Bit Random.

Please pray for my friend Ashton, who was induced this morning and is now in labor! She is due tomorrow and has anxiously been awaiting the arrival of her son. GO ASHTON!

While I’m here and have some time…
Tomorrow (according to the little counter above) Chase will be 2 months. WOW. He has just captured our hearts and most who meet him. He is such a good and happy baby!

In the past week 1/2:
  • He has learned to roll over onto his sides. I now am afraid to leave him on the changing table, even if only for one second.
  • He uses his fists to rubs his eyes when he is tired.
  • He “talks” and coos louder than before. Sometimes he squeals so loudly now! I love it.
  • He has begun to show a lot more personality!
  • He has slept through the night twice or he sleeps very good, waking up only once to feed!
  • He has become more and more a momma’s boy.
  • There have been a few nights where he would not sleep in his crib, but only beside mommy in bed.
I don’t want him to grow up to fast! I feel like he is already!
Okay one more thing before I get ready for work. I made a blog dedicated to me becoming healthy and fit again. I can officially begin working out- which will begin with walking- when Chase is 10 weeks! WOOOHOOO!
If you have any advice I would love it!

He’s captured my heart.

I will be interested to see what colour his eyes turn out to be. Loving them right now.

Punching at daddy. :)

Staring up at momma.

The photos below are a little late in posting. I actually forgot about them until the other day. Oops. So here they are;

taken @ 4w and weighing in @ 11 lbs 4 oz

An achy morning leads to afternoon cuddles.

This morning was a bit rough for Chase. A circumcision and getting his heel pricked, yet again.

The plan was that Ted would be home in time to come and be with Chase during his circumcision, but yesterday around noon Ted called me from Kansas and told me our car had broke down and that he was hoping to be home by monday (today). My mom and sister had to leave last night, so my grandma drove down so I would have a ride to Chase’s appointment this morning. Well, and I didn’t want to go alone to this particular appointment.
Chase is definitely a growing boy and today he weighed in at 9 lbs 14 oz, 22 inches long & a 15 in head and is in the 75% with each. Remember he was born 8 lbs 15 oz, 21 in long & a 14 in head! He is now 16 days old and hasn’t lost an oz since birth.
I couldn’t stay to watch the circumcision because I didn’t want to see my baby go through that. They told me he didn’t feel a thing, so that was comforting. Well, he is feeling it now. I changed two diapers since the appointment and almost cried along with him both times…
He is a cuddly boy and today he is extra cuddly. In fact he is lying, sound asleep, on my chest.
I love this part the most.
I am now going to take the advice of most mommas and nap while he is napping… sounds amazing right now.
