We visited the Wings over Denver Air and Space Museum today. My sweet friend told me she and her boys would be doing this and asked us to join, so we did a fun lesson on aviation.
Learning of Leonardo da Vinci, The Wright Brothers, and Amelia Earhart.
(Shailo loved Chase’s drawing of Amelia Earhart so much so that he wanted to copy it himself! I LOVE these so much!)
And then we ventured out today to see what we’ve been learning about, and what fun it was!! Enjoy the pictures and small review.
Shailo exploring.
The kids each got a chance to “fly” like a Wright Brother – quite fun after having a lesson on the “grandfathers of American Aviation”.
Undeniable joy!
My friend’s daughter Poesy and my Everly running around.
A scavenger hunt of sorts.
Shailo enjoyed the airplane which was similar to that of what Amelia Earhart flew. There was a fun little play area with things for the kids to try out and climb into too!
We were so surprised and thrilled to find Anikan Skywalker and his podracer at the museum!
And a model X-wing! Thumbs up for the Wings Over Denver museum!
Jami,
I loved this post. It reminded me of all the field trips and adventures we had while homeschooling.
I’m so proud of you for taking on this endeavour. Even on the hard days, it is so worth it!
Love you.
