Mommy’s Tea & Other Icky Things.

My personal fave.
Chase is so fascinated with us eating or drinking. He is constantly grabbing at our plates or in this case, our beverages. This time he reached out and brought it to his mouth. This was pretty surprising to me. I mean, how does he know how to do that? He’s only had a bottle 3 maybe 4 times in his life!
Daddy and Uncle Darren thought it would be funny to let him just taste a salt and vinegar chip… and I can’t believe I let them. Poor buddy! Even I don’t like those chips!
I agree Chase, nasty!
We are/were waiting until Chase was 6 months to begin feeding him.
Our doctor says to start around 4 months “to teach them to eat” but I don’t think it’s necessary. Especially in our case, because his weight is great and I still have plenty of milk at this point.
With all of that said… I really, really can’t wait to feed him for the first time. We are definitly going to document that, so don’t you worry! This is kind of lame, but there is part of me that wants to let him eat over Christmas break so we could tell him he had his first real food on Christmas day! It would be 1/2 month early and with his interest in food, I don’t think it would be harmful in any way. Maybe a little unnecessary. Ted and I just can’t wait to see how he does. What he thinks! We shall see. Maybe you will see pics soon!

Hopefully his face won’t look like this! Like “what the heck daddy?!”

I’m sorry I didn’t post all week… SAD, I don’t like it when I can’t post updates/pictures. Even when our life is busy, I usually found time to update, but last week was INSANE. Not to mention a lot of restless/sleepless nights with my boy. But that’s for another blog. I shall play “catch up” over the next few days! :)

Much to Be Thankful For.

We celebrated Chase’s first Thanksgiving with my side of the fam,
plus his Godfather and Godmother.
About to leave for a little outing to the neighborhood park.
Notice anything wrong with this picture?
He is sockless! We noticed after my sister took this picture.
Thankfully before we left :)
Chases LOVES to swing.
He was laughing in this shot.
He fell asleep in Nana’s arms.
Uncle Darren (our friend and his Godfather).
Walking back to Nana and Papa’s house.
Auntie Chey (Godmother & friend) and Chase.
We’re so thankful for you lil buddy!!

Flannel Friday.

Because everyone at the YWAM is doing it, Chase joined in too.
Not really, I just found this top too irresistible.
Flannel Friday!
Side note: Crazy how much editing takes away from the real photo sometimes. The photos above actually turned out really dark and I had to edit them to make them light.
However, this photo turned out great!

He loves to stand.

Happy flannel friday!
Wait til you see our Christmas photo! Hehe.

3 Month Photoshoot.

These are 2, almost 3 weeks late in coming, not that anyone but me will notice. Haha :)

Chillin’ with his buddy Scoundrel.

The bumbo has helped him sit up better, but he still needs help to sit up on his own.

“Look mommy, I’m a big boy!”

Love this one. His eyes are still blue/grey but I see hazel sometimes.
I’m curious what colour they will end up being!

He definitely doesn’t get his length from me.
Two things he enjoys; chewing and grabbing.
These lil guys are his new fav. Teething toys.

:) all boy, that’s for sure.

Mision accomplished; sicker destroyed.

Yesterday was quite the day.

First, I took Chase to the doctor (finally) to ask about the inflamed patch on the back of his head and on his legs. Sure enough, it’s eczema, which is hereditary (I have it). They gave him lotion, so hopefully that will work.

Within the next week we are taking him in to get his blood drawn so we can narrow down what he might be allergic to. My eczema is triggered by allergies in peanuts and dairy, although it’s nothing life threatening like some people I know. Hopefully his isn’t too bad of an allergy as well!

This wasn’t his well-baby checkup, that is scheduled for November 18th. However, they did weigh and measure him, just because I guess. He now weighs 15 lbs 11 oz and is 28 3/4 in long!! He has definitely slowed down in the weight but shot up in length. He now looks long and thin, although he still has his cute rolls! The length part he does not get from me!

Second, wednesday evening I started feeling awful. And by his appointment yesterdayI felt so sick, then I could barely make it to the car. I called Ted and we immediately went to see my doctor. I would usually wait it out, but with a baby and the flu going around, I just couldn’t risk it. We arrived, and I could barely walk. I went inside, almost made it to the bathroom before telling a lady in the hall “Ma’am, I’m going to pass out”… she laid me down in time, thankfully! Anyways, I had food poisoning. I was just happy to hear it wasn’t the flu!

Poor Ted had to take care of us yesterday. I think it was really hard on him, doing almost everything by himself (expect the feedin). At this point, Chase really needs me more than daddy, so it was hard for everyone. Chase wanted mommy, mommy wanted to sleep and daddy had to learn how to manage everything at once. It was interesting because Chase was extremely frustrated and fussy yesterday. It made me realize how much he loves and needs being held by me!  Whenever I did get the energy to cuddle him, he would be just fine and snuggle close. I actually loved that part of the awful day yesterday.

Welcome to my heart.

A Song I made up after Chase was born. It’s so simple yet he loves it when I sing it to him.
Welcome to my heart,
You’ve stolen it.
There’s no other part,
You haven’t been. (x2)
Cause,
You, you are my boy
You, you are my joy
You, you are my boy
You, you are my joy
Welcome to my heart
You’ve stolen it.

Mobile Journeys.

Chewing away.

Tummy time with momma.

Laughing.

Just like mommy.

Merch Baby.

Momma forgot the “just in case” clothes again :)

I have my mommy’s nose.

Somehow I managed to sleep through all of the noise of 108 new students arriving and having a welcome breakfast together!

My froggy snugly and me.

My first chipotle (not really).

And, my first wanton!

I love to stand but I was worn out here.

My first time swinging. I didn’t know what to think.

I preferred swinging with my mommy.

My first time in a movie theatre. I watched for a bit, then ate and slept.

Sleeping through mommy changing me.

My first snow day!

I like mommy’s side of the bed.

This makes people laugh, so I do it often :)

Or this!

Mommy told me to stop growing, but I just can’t help myself. Plus, I can’t wait to crawl!

This is just a few of the photos I’ve taken over the past few weeks. I just got a new phone and was sad to let my other one go because it had 852 pictures on it! Probably 100 we’re from before Chase came but the rest were all after! Ted and I couldn’t believe my piece of crap camera held that many!
It’s moments like this where I don’t feel ridiulous for always pulling out my camera phone and snapping these. Recognizing the precious memories and documenting them. It’s totally a Jami thing to do and I hope I do it with all of my kiddos!
Chase still hasn’t completely (by himself) rolled over from his tummy to his back. He prefers to roll over from back to tummy, which freaks me out because he has almost rolled out of his swing, his bouncer, his carseat and changing tables! He gets close while on his tummy but then just scoots and scoots and scoots backwards. It is cute but I’m hoping he will roll over tummy to back soon!!
Chase turned 3 months yesterday! (I am now doing month to month, so every 18th is a new month). I cannot believe how fast time is flying by. I will post pictures of his 3 month photo shoot soon!
A little confession… I can’t help but think about getting pregnant again! Crazy huh? Emotionally I am back to normal and realizing that the birth plan changing was in fact very difficult but it will not stop me from having all of the children we want. I can’t wait to see Chase as a big brother!
